Hmm YGWYPF? This is one mod I would hate to be cheap about only spend the money on install and have it show its ugly face somewhere else down the road...

I am looking at an LSD Option for the Mini, and I just can't grasp why an LSD for a Mini would be $1200!!!

I can get a full detroit Locker for the back of my Jeep (14bolt) for $450.

 

I found this link from a Honda site...shows a complete tear-down of the unit so you can see the guts.

Most of the Honda guys are saying that it is a Quaife knock-off.

Keep in mind these are for Hondas, but it is likley that the MINI version is of similar quality.

exactly..... $800 in labor... not a good area to have problems brought on by yourself.....

I will stay on the sidelines and let other take the "bleeding edge" on this one

 

Bart, send me an email if you want to get your MINI a really nice upgrade including a LSD!

I did the upgrade to a 05 tranny with LSD a couple of months ago and I swear, it was the best mod I ever did!! The closer gear ratio and LSD are totally worth it!

I know a girl @ South BMW parts dept. and I can get you an awesome deal on the tranny.

That way, you'll get a quicker MINI, and a good LSD...
