Drivetrain Review on Dinan intake
Review on Dinan intake
I got a 03 MCS and it is bone stock with exeption to my window tint. I took my 03 MCS to get warranty work done, and I got a 06 MCS convert automatic (boo) and in what appers to be a lavander color, cant get much more chuss than that. I first had issues locating the clutch...oh yea auto...crap...my left foot did manage to find the edge of the brake pedal all I have to say about that was that A: brakes work B: thank god no one was behind me. on to the review:
Once getting all the above figured out and understaning my left foot no longer had a role (its depressed) I got to test this little convert out. When I frist got the loaner from the dealer I had no idea that anything was done to it. So my first impression was wow this car seems alot smoother and more eager to rev and go, also sounds more agressive (really hear the S/C). I drove it all 210 miles home from the dealer, and was overall really impressed with the noise levels and all from the convert top and all but the preformace seemed so mucher nicer and smoother than mine. I drove it some more the next day I was still just baffled by it, I mean it was an automatic convertable that means it was heavier than mine and the tranny should "bog" the engine a little. Once I got home I decied to pop the hood and see what the heck was going on, I lifted it and closed it, " I did not just see that" Lifted the hood again to confirm my findings, It was a DINAN strut bar, and a DINAN Intake. SO with that being under the hood I did notice a diffrance and LOVE The sound it makes.
Conclusion:
Not only does this intake give a good clean stock apperance with exception of the Dinan D on it, it sound and preforms great.
Now as for the strut bar I did notice the steering was more responsive but aside from that I dont really know becuse I know the converts arnet as stable as the hardtops.
I would Highly reccommend BOTH of these Items and will be investing my moneny into a Dinan Intake, unless I hear that a Hammon or AC Snitcher is better.

I did the same thing on my loaner MC auto; my left foot naturally wanted to press the clutch and downshift, nailed the brake pedal and nose-dived into my steering wheel.
Anyway the 06' MCS convert probably felt better than your 03' not just because of the intake, but the newer models have 5 more hp and different software tuning. I have never driven a MCS automatic, but I have driven a couple 05' and 06' 6 sp. MCSs and I couldn't believe how much nicer they drove than my 03' (when it was stock).
