nology hot wires or a blaster coil with kingsborne wires

The Nology Hotwires (and all the similar designs over the years) have proven pretty ineffectual, but I guess they're pretty.

Seriously, unless you have some evidence that you're not getting complete combustion, there's nothing to be gained by changing out the coil or wires. Are you running higher rpms than normal (for instance, you've lightened your valvetrain and are now regularly revving to 8000 rpm)? Or have you drastically increased your dynamic cylinder pressure and are having problems getting the air/fuel mixture to ignite?

In short, what's the problem you're hoping to fix by changing out the ignition components?

Scotts points are dead on.

To answer the question though. I wouldn't do anything unless I went with something like the MSD DIS systems.

Yep, unless you are running a twurbo or some crazy amounts of boost, the stock stuff works just as well.

Well, stuff does wear out, eventually.
On a newer car, I agree with the above. On an older car, might be worth it.
My 03 has 42k on it, and when I switch plugs for the pulley, I will probably switch wires and maybe the coil. More of a peace-of-mind thing.
