Drivetrain Service engine soon Light?
two cars too rich
I had the SES light on both ways to and from MOTD. The other MINI I Motored with on the way back home also had it. I don't know the reason for theirs, but I know mine was saying system too rich. One of the vendors that pulled the code said its possibly due to getting some gas with too much Ethanol, as was mentioned earlier in this thread. Interestingly, once this light came on, my exhaust became unbearably loud! I could go into a longwinded bunch of speculation, but first, I'd like to just see some opinions on this. I am planning to have my dealer take a look at it since I'm under warranty.

Thanks in advance!!
I find it that everytime I reach 17 psi or more in my car, the SES light comes on and the DSC light. The SES light will turn off after 3-4 starts of the engine. I guess it is an overboost code that triggers these lights to come on. Hope this helps.
Overboost solution!!
Check your intercooler boots and make sure they are super tight. But if you are running 17% pullies and getting the SES lights you need to change to the Alta Couplers (BOOTS).
I have had the same problem with my 17%v2 Alta Pulley. I replaced the stock IC boots for the Alta IC Boots (Couplers) and no more problems. The stock boots were too soft for my 17% pulley at higher speeds. I was getting the P0108 code all the time after pushing my car hard, and after replacing the intercooler boots for the Alta. My problem is gone. Henry
