Drivetrain Help picking a pulley!!!
trackster,
Regarding the lighter weight being better. By no means are we going to claim a certain HP increase with this new version. I am sure their is as the saving on the pulley is .35lbs. This equates to a HP gain, but nothing someone will feel. When designing this part, we looked at how some of the competition was selling theirs against ours. One feature some used was lighter weight. Making our classic pulley in both aluminum, or mixing SS with aluminum, we new that was a disaster waiting to happen. So we came up with a way to mix aluminum and SS and not have issues of growth or slipping.
Regarding the old being bad. Nope, the old design works perfectly fine, but with many other pulleys adaopting this design, we wanted to set our selves above the rest.
We know some people won't go for this new design, so we are offering both for a while.
The grooves or belt haven't shown any excess wear issues in about 12kmiles. The beauty with the grooves is that if the belt is a little wore out and longer, the grooves will keep it from slipping. This could extend belt life slightly.
Kendel72,
I agree, that 19% is awsome for street! Lots of tire scubbing going on there!
ignote,
Later today, you will see our new site, and the info on the pulley.
