magnaflow cat

Based on threads here, I contacted an ebay seller, My Performance Exhaust (who gave one of the quickest responses ever) to buy a magnaflow cat 94136. However Magnaflow Tech support says that this Universal Cat is for vehicles weighing 6000 lbs and he is surprised that it is not throwing codes, so he wants the following info:
1. Vehicle weight
2. Engine size
3. Sensor position
4. Size of pipe in and out.
5. Whether the oem cat is round or oval
6. The aprox length of the oem cat
7. A picture of the oem cat would be beneficial

I know
1. Weight is 2844
2. Engine is 1.6 supercharged
3. Drivers side up on the neck
4. I believe 2.5 in and out CAN ANYONE CONFIRM?
5. Round
6. length ???
7. OK Pix and schematic
but I don't know the rest...

He's offered to get me to a magnacat dealer but I'fd just as soon buy from My Performance Exhaust and since Helix is going to put it on...

Anyway any help would be appreciated. Michael

Thanks kurvhugr! I assume that #1 is the cat so the sensor hole is where #8 plugs in, obviously it is round, can you: 1. provide me with the url for this pix and 2. Give me an idea of the scale, so that I can estimate the length. Thanks again! Michael

It's from www.realoem.com. Once you get there you have to work your way through to the diagrams that apply to your model and build month/year.

The cat canister (yes, the cat is where the #1 is pointing) is about 6" long and something less than 5" in diameter.

There's something wrong with that diagram regarding the sensors. The things labeled 8 are the O2 sensors, but one of them is pointed at the wrong hole. The upper sensor (closest to the head flange) is right, it goes in ahead of the pre-cat (I think that's just a second, smaller cat). The rearward sensor goes into the hole behind the cat - between the cat and the flange that leads to the rest of the exhaust (the hole sort of under the number 5). I don't think my header even has a bung where the diagram shows the second O2 sensor pointing.

I think you need to double check that pipe diam. I'm pretty sure it's more like 2.2 or 2.25.
