throttlebody issue?

i did the occ mod (16 $ ) car ran like crap. as i had done some other stuff, and this mod should've been fine it took awhile to find it . i ran 1/4" lines.
now; if i pull the hose to the grey plastic hose the car runs okay. the vacuum is massive!! . the by-pass is fully open. if i restrict the air to the plastic hose it will stall. oddly the car does not increase revs when hose is disconnected. the engine is warm so i would think the throttle would be open some. so is anyone elses car this dependant on pcv air? do i have a badthrottle body setting? i would think the codes would be flying . it puts up codes if i restrict the pcv hose. please any thoughts would be appreciated.
