LSD is inside the tranny. The MINI LSD is made by GKN and is a clutch-type. Directly from GKN, I know that it is supposed to last for a very long time, but requires some care, such as more frequent tranny oil chance...

Sid... second is magic in the new box.... it is perfect for getting out of the corners...... 3rd is also very nice...... 1st for our engines just gets you rolling....other than that useless.....

I do not have an lsd but the way my Bilstiens hook up I am not too concerned...... Dave at DDM is a suspension guru and he is very impressed with the way my front ends stays hooked up...... if I could find an 05 or 06 with the factory lsd I would be very happy
