I have the Hamann header which is made by Supersprint and uses the same ball joint. I used the braided gasket that came with my header. No problems after 2 months. Hope that helps.

I have the OBX (SS clone) and I used the "soft" donut gasket that came with it and have had no problems for 10,000 miles.

I've got many miles..

and no problems either. But that stuff isn't that soft. It's graphite! Takes heat, and will allow sliding over it's surface. But it can be torn up, so if you're shredding gaskets, look to see if everything is smooth. It really shouldn't be a problem.

But if you've got problems and think a $30 gasket will fix it, seems pretty cheap to me!

Matt

auto parts store? or summitracing.com? I've bought from both, but in sizes too big for a MINI

Why don't you just ream them out a little before installing?
Can you post the part number, description and manufacturer of this part.

it's normal to have to open them up a bit with a razor knife.
