I would suggest asking Bruce, (aka NoBull) since he is being sponsored by them, he may have some inside info.

LOL. $120 for a wire that only produces 5-7hp? Not for me, thanks. I just put magnets on my fuel line instead. Each one produces 20hp and there's room for 11 of them on the stock hose. My S is up to 383hp now! I just ordered another dozen that I'm just going to drop into the gas tank. Man, my car will be soooo fast!

I have heard of a grtound kit being used in the new RSx Acura's and it makes a difference. Not sure about our mini's though.

Another forum recommmended the following:

a 3/4 tinned braided grounding strap from the engine to the body. Short as possible and held down with a star washer.

another ground from the tranny/engine to the ECU. Not sure how practical this for the MINI application.

Speaking of magnets in the fuel line...

Has anyone heard of the Fitch fuel catalyst ? And does it work ?

Grounding kits arent worth the money for a street car. Maybe if it was heavily modified but otherwise it's pointless.

So what mods would, in your opinion, warrant a grounding kit?

I dont know exactly what. I'm just saying that there is no point. Why would you get that stuff if your car has an intake headers and exhaust. They more than likely dont give you any horsepower, and any they give you is not much. Like all these kids around here that get $100 worth of spark plug wires for their imports (japanese that is). They think it gives them 10 horsepower when all it might do is improve spark or something like that, which they dont need on a civic with intake.

There is already a ground on the MINI. Take a look at the passenger side motor mount - you don't need any more than that, and that isn't there for performance...

So i guess that means we're not getting a MINI MOTORSPORT dyno test? I'm on the fence on this one. I've seen MPG improvements by upgrading battery cables and its a huge difference in starting the vehicle but I wasnt into performance when I experimented.

Heh, Dan@Vivid has always been a funny guy, especially in the wrx world.

Wonder were the dyno sheet is, and if there's other independents that have tested before and after

A few grounding straps are a popular ricer mod in Japan.

Speaking of Ricer mods, I bet they get so much performance out of those 4 foot tall rear spoilers they are mounting. All that down force in back really helps get the power to the road on your civic.

You can almost see the vortex swirls, if you squint just right.
