Drivetrain K&N Typhoon Problems???
K&N Typhoon Problems???
Recently installed the Typhoon Short Ram Intake kit w/Intake tube on my '04 MCS and while on the MTTS my poor MINI decided to quit running
. Thanks to the MINI support team for finding that the Intake tube let water into the engine compartment (thanks to hurricane Ernesto) and onto the throttle controll and threw the car into limp mode. Dried out the parts with compressed air and covered the factory air intake and throttle controll with duct tape (another use), cleared the computer and got me on my way
. Has anybody else had this problem and if so what did you do to fix it, other than taking the thing off. If you haven't had this problem, any suggestions???

Have not had this trouble...
But, then, I haven't had a hurricane
!! Still, it seems to me that no particular CAI or HAI would have necessarily kept everything dry
(including stock?). Ironic somehow that a Typhoon couldn't protect you from calamitous weather.
Good to know that it was relatively easy to fix.
Hope that problem was the only damage you suffered
