Drivetrain Calling all gurus! Pulley Modification question
I know there are quite of number of you out there in MCO land who have done the pulley mod.
Question, how long have you had it, in terms of time and miles?
Did you find that with time the ECU/ Chip changed or reMapped in some way from that the initial "feel" for better or worse?
Has anyone done dyno runs immediatly after the mod and then with several hundred miles later to see if the results have changes for better or worse i.e ECU remapped?
Thanks in advance

Here's the plots:

Compare the 161.7 run with the 159.7 run. Those were the same equipment, different days, brand of gas, etc.
Thanks for posting your dyno results, however even though these are on different dates the miles are the same (as posted on the dyno results) how many miles between these dates, appoximately?
Thanks again,
Thanks again,
Great, thanks for the info Andy
I have noticed that you have MTH's software. Did you have this during your dyno runs? And I guess, getting back to my question at hand, if you didn't, great, my question is answered. ( no changes over time with the pulley mod)
If you HAD the software at that time, could this have accounted for the lack of changes or remapping of the ECU?
Sorry if these seem like bonehead questions, I'm just trying to better understand if there are any downsides to the pulley mod over time,..besides the obvious....warranty issues if you blow your engine.
Additionally, Im trying to avoid the initial "pee on my shoes excitement" being replaced by disappointment down the road over time.
Thanks again

The pulley right now seems to make all the difference without the software. I haven't noticed any change at all in driveability. The car has had the pulley for about 1200 miles now, and I haven't run into any issues yet (and that includes several HOURS running at the track, a couple autocrosses, and dyno work).
As for the warranty - I know it's been covered to death, but in regards to the pulley, it would absolutely positively void the warranty for the motor and gearbox. Everything else would be fine - the mod has to directly contribute to the failure for the warranty to be void.
I'd be happy to answer any of your questions with the pulley. Your hesitance is totally understandable - the pulley is a big step. It also produces the biggest seat of the pants gain however.
Hope that helps!

>>The intake and 'flow go "nuts" when my car with a pully-job hits 6,000.
>>The exhaust changes from the usuall lovely sound to "WWHHHOOOOOSH"!!!
>>It is awesome, lol.>>>>>
Yeah. It truly is amazing how well the stock exhaust sounds with "a little extra" boost!

I have the Magnaflow exhaust. I love the sound, no drone, never have had any, don't anticipate I ever will. Guess I'm just lucky, deaf or both
Randy, I know you too have seen the light and been enlightened by the Magnaflow. Did you notice a big change in the exhaust note with the pulley mod? Louder? Sweeter? Gives you goosebumps all over?

I like the Magnaflow - no secret. It isn't for everyone though. Withe pulley, I noticed a change in whine - higher pitched. It reallly is a beautiful thing.
As far as the 100F heat goes, we have to thank JCW for the testing they did three. They are using the same reduction pulley and have done extensive endurance testing on the car at several different locales. No issues I'm aware of!
What will be more interesting to me is the performance degredation with the heat. For those of you who haven't had your car for a summer, the difference in performance is noticable in the heat. I wonder if the pulley equipped car will see a linear change in power from the stock S, or if the change with heat will be more noticable. We'll see!

So, has anyone have any dyno runs to document the difference on a hot day with a pulley modded vehicle, comparing it to one that is not? Would the pulley modded car have a larger % drop in torque?
I know, I know just go do it
