Drivetrain Plug Heat Range Help Needed
Plug Heat Range Help Needed
I have been trying to follow the recent discutions on the Denso and NGK Differances and I am leaning towards the NGK plugs to give them a try .At the moment I have been using the IK 22.
I had the IK22 put in when I had the 15% put on ,now on top of that I now have a 2% crank pulley a Alta Header with Magnaflow catback and a DFIC .Bearing in mind if it is relavent to take into account also the hottness here in Florida would it be wise choice to drop down yet another heat range ie. to the IK24 range.
I am not really understanding the reasons to change heat ranges in regards to plugs.

Yeah, it would probably be good to talk with Pat about this one. The reason for going to a colder plug is to prevent detonation caused by the extra heat in the plug. If you go to cold, you won't be completely burning as much fuel as you should and the plug will foul (along with other emissions related things).
