I've got a squealer thanks to Pilo Racing

I orderd an intake from Pilo who actually got it to my school faster than my school could get it to the mail room (took them two days grrr). I installed it in the school parking lot so I did not do as thorough a job as I would have liked in trimming the back wall out. I will need to do a nicer job at home this weekend.

Also, I didn't have any tools up here so I went to Sears and bought a cheap "Companion" brand socket set to keep in the MINI for times like these. For $15 it came with a SnapOn style rachet which does not cut your hands up like all the regular craftsman tools I have. Its a full metric and standard set in 1/4" drive up to 12mm I think, pretty handy.

Sound is great...the little guy squeals with joy now. Feels like some extra kick in the pants too. Thanks Pilo Racing.

I was surprised how much whine can be heard at a stand still revving now. It used to only appear under load but now its highly available at all times.

In the quest for more squealing I will be removing a lot more wall. Cheers

That would make for a LOT MORE squealing, I only need a little bit more. Not quite that much.

Hehehehe. Yeah I run a Magnaflow CBE and bystanders say the SC is far louder than the exhaust when I get on the throttle. Makes me a bit sad that the 2007's will not have it. Of course a nice aftermarket BOV with the turbo can sound good too!

I thought I'd update this after a nice full weekend with the intake on.

The little guy pulls NOTICEABLY harder. I didn't think it was going to make that much of a difference but he really pulls hard now. I had a few interesting run ins on the way back to school (an STI, e36 M3, Q7 4.2) and held my own. Ciao
