where to buy a side exit muffler???

Does anyone know where you can buy a universal side exit muffler, something close to the Quicksliver muffler, Super Sprint muffler, ect. The kind of muffler configuration that enters as normal but instead of exiting the rear of the can, it comes out of the side.

If anyone knows any companies that sell just the mufflers, or has links to any websites that offer these, please let me know.

thanks.

you can buy one at a custom exhaust shop. bring a picture in of a one sided exhaust and tell him what you want to do. i think a couple of the members here have one sided exhausts

I don't think you'll need a side exit. Just use elbows to route it where you want. There really isn't much space under there though. Muffler location will be tough. On my '03 (which shouldn't be any different from yours), there is a cross brace behind a resonator. You could take the resonator out, however, this location sits higher within the chassis so you'll have to bend down then out to the side. Behind the cross brace, my exhaust lowers a bit before routing out to OEM exit. This drop down would be better suited, but thats a near 90* elbow to exit at the side, which IMO is too sharp, plus you'll be close to the fuel tank. And if you cut the resonator out, you'll lose some critcal hangers. Also, there is a lot of plastic to miss.

Here is the only side exit I know of, and I believe his actually routes from passenger interior.

Good luck and post pics!

I don't think he's actually talking about having the exhaust exit the side of the car, just a muffler where the exit pipe comes out the side. Like the Supersprint.

Yeah, after I reread a couple of times (after) I posted
But I figured, either way, the elbow thing would work, so I left it alone.

Could have been worse:
