Pre-Installation Question: Borla Exhaust

I'm thinking of getting the Borla Exhaust for my MCS. The question is, are the heat shields around the existing stock exhaust removed completely to fit the Borla?

The reason I ask is that I'm bringing my MCS in for repairs from a rear-ended accident and the stock exhaust has to be replaced from the Cat back. I'm working with the body shop on replacing the stock exhaust with the Borla instead. Since the heat shields are damaged and need to be replaced, we need to know if we should even bother buying them if they might be removed to install the Borla?

Any info would be great.

Exhaust installation will not impact the heat shields other than small indentions that may be needed to add clearance for clamps or the forward pipe hanger ends.

I'd keep the heatshields in place. They do help keep heat out of the car.

As k-huevo said, they'll be fine for clearance especially in the rear where you are talking about.
