JCW vs MCS: Same Air Filter?

I'm considering a K&N filter for our JCW. Can anyone confirm this is the same air filter as the Cooper S?

Thanks for your help.

JCW filter is conical, the standard MCS filter is a panel. I know there are foam filter elements for both.

not even close. k&n does not make a direct replacement filter for a jcw mini. Threre is a thread about adapting one here on nam. for a replacement look for the itg from www.mymini.com or the one from gt tuning available from www.miniworks.com

Just curious after looking at your picture...Will an alta filter fit in the JCW air box with a little tweaking?

Nope. I was curious too. Maybe with an adapter (because the Alta is wider) but if I remember correclty it was also too long to fit inside the box.

The ITG foam filter is what I will be replacing my JCW paper filter with when the time comes...
