ibboarderh20,

I would like to ask nicely that you read more and post less. There is information a plenty regarding some of the ECU options out there - and I think you may have even asked the question before.

I understand your excitement and enthusiasm, and I share it - but we need to have much less useless info floating around on the Performance Modifications forum, or folks that can bring actual and beneficial questions and information won't continue to frequent the board.

I am speaking to a few of our members that have started this type of posting as of late - and if you are analyzing whether or not I am refering to you personally, feel free to pm me and I can sort it out privately.

Please understand my position - there is a lot of information contained on this forum, just use the search function. If we continue to post the same surveys and repeated questions, visitors and other members will tire quickly of rereading the material that provides no real new information.

Feel free to contact me - I'm not angry with anyone, just want to provide the best atmoshpere possible for folks to learn about modding their MINI.

I'm not at all asking you to stop posting, just use the search function more, and if you still need help, then ask. There is so much information out there, and when I start seeing the same questions repeated by the same poster, let's just say that it takes a lot of time for me to answer each post.

I'm happy that we have such an ecclectic group here on MCO, and I enjoy it. I am just trying to protect what we have here, and not allow it to evolve in the wrong way.

I would be glad to talk with you personally on the phone to answer any questions you may have about forum etiquite (sp?) or performance modifications. Feel free to contact me directly.

Randy-
I understand that the fluff around can amke you mad as you are a moderator. I am going to go ahead and say that the search function does is not the most reliable tool on this site. I have sued it a couple of times where is has worked well, most of the tiems it does not work to well. It is an honest mistake for someone to miss a post, and in many cases it is easier for some with a slow conenction to just post a neew thread instead of searching through the many pages. I am not trying to pick a fight with you or anything. Maybe instances liek these should be settled using the PM system. Hope this doesn't start a fight or anything. I have much respect for this site and the people that run it and take care of it. Thanks!

CooperSpeed,

The search function works well if you know how to use it. To help out, I posted a search function How-to. Try it out - using the ECU example, I found around three pages of information, some of it pertaining to plug and play.

I know it can be confusing, so that's why I did the How-to .

Let me know if I can answer any other questions.

Randy

Not at all...

I hope you all understand my point. I just want the forums to be useful information, not just the same things over and over, especially when some of the posters have already seen the answer.

I get the point Randy. However some people don't get time to see you Search How-To. I am not trying to be fresh or anything, but there are those few individuals out there with 56krap (LB BoArDeR h2o) LOL. I have 56krap at home, and it is a pain in the *** to look through everything. Hopefully your How-To will keep this forum is good condition so we don't have to go through the clean-up process more and more. I can't take it when MCO is offline.

You can't buy enthusiasm, and it's great to see ..
but Randy's point is well made as I myself attempt to read much more before asking. Thanks for all the effort that you have made in documenting huge amounts of information for us mini-nutz.

I was speaking with George last night and it appears that Rentech is stepping up to the plate, ready to play ball. Or so we all hope! The EVOTECH product is currently being tested with all sorts of products, from pullies to heads this week. Hope is to come up with either a product that will "learn" the various mods on the car, or to create specific stages of tune. This is a big thing for all of us not so keen on attacking their wiring harness.
