Fun MOD

Via NAM emails, I hooked up with DarkMiniCooperS who recently moved to Florida so I thought it would be nice to welcome him to the neighborhood so to speak. Since he was new to the area, he asked that I suggest a place to meet so I suggested a jiggly (.y.) bar. Bear in mind I know nothing about this guy but I fugured if we didn't like each other we would at least be entertained.

So this Friday, DarlMiniCooperS and I took our Mini's out to a strip club for a couple of beers. DarkMini has an awesome car, particularly in the suspension/rim set-up. The 18" rims with lowered set-up looks killer.

Besides having way too good of a time. We both found that our Mini's ran much better afterwards. We all reference "seat of the pants" experiences when it comes to MODS. And we have one for all of you to try SO here is a great SOP -

MCS + NAM BUDS + a couple of beers + jiggles (.y.) = a great seat of the pants experience! We can't agree on actual HP numbers (I had more lapdances so my figure is higher) but its somewhere between 10-15 hp.

Is this a cheap MOD? well, DarkMini and I found that it varies on

a) if its happy hour or not
b) how many lapdances you get

I appreciate that everyone here at NAM wants numbers so we are currently researching if there are any Dyno shops near the jiggly bar! So be patient, DarkMini and I will be pursuing numbers shortly.

DarkMini - your two in my book, lets do it again soon!

Now I know that this will be too much boring work...

but make sure you gather enought statistics to make sure your measurements are accurate... Means you have to go out and do it several more times!

I know, sometimes work sucks.....

The hidden costs of these jiggly mods could, in the end, be horr iffic.

I know how unforgiving NAM members can be when it comes to no data or poor quality data. The data will be of the highest quality - even it if means repeating the tests over and over again!

Speaking of quality data, DarkMini and I even discussed installing poles in our cars but we are going to need some help here !

Matt can I borrow those temp probes again! I figure I will install one in DarkMini's pants and the other in mine to see what the heatsoak effect would be!

Yes, its called "hands free driving" - lol and as long as you are going straight its no problem, its those dam turns that are difficult.

I'd SELL them for that, but not load. After those tests, I wouldn't want them back......

LOL funny thread BahamaBart!

I also had a great time last Friday. You really know where to go to make a new Florida guy feel happy and welcome...

As of the actual numbers, I can say that's an expensive mod, not for the faith of hearts, but totally worth it. I'd say it give a lot of low-RPM HP and torque, but can't prove anything yet... I'll have to go back to that "speedshop" with Bart, so that we can do further searching. Who said R&D was cheap!

Seriously, I had a great time and BahamaBArt is a very nice guy. He knows his MINI stuff and some other stuff too...

DarkMINI - do you have a twin brother with an Audi? Furthermore, have I asked you that before? I don't remember... I have an A4 in additon to my MCS. We were talking MINIs on an Audi board and some guy posted his twin brothers mcs.. yours looks familiar.

With all those mods and added seat of the pants HP, just becareful not to exceed the load of the driveshaft. You wouldn't want it to bend in half... or worse... lose the entire load all together!

Actually didn't see that one coming. And DarkMini should report on what was in the kit for I was not that coherent when we left.

I thought there would be a lot of comments on the "wheel of friction"
