With or without the resonator?

I have a rattle in my resonator on my Milltek. Rather then complain about it to the manufacturer, I'm thinking it will be easier to just cut it out and weld a new one in or just have a strait pipe put in.

Here's the thing. I do love the sound of the Milltek but I wish it was a little loader. I know that without the resonator It might drive me crazy at 70MPH (or will it?). The resonator on the Milltek is some what large compared to some I have seen during some searches. Most cost $30 to $50.

Does anyone have a Milltek without the resonator and if so what are your impressions?? Does anyone have any recommendations on a great aftermarket resonator that will make the sound a little loader without driving me crazy at 70MPH.

i had the same issue with my magnaflow. I just chopped the res. I dono how it will sound with the miltek, but already being loud it got a little bit louder. I have an 05 so the exhaust pop got much louder.

That depends...if you are on stock header, I wouldn't run a resonator. If you have a set of aftermarket headers, perhaps a resonator won't make your ears bleed. Even more of a necessity if you run a test pipe.

Just a sound thing. Your CAT does all the smog cleaning goodness.

I think you should be fine just knocking out the resonator on the Miltek. It's not a super loud exhaust anyways. If you find it droning, just slap on a Magnaflow high-flow resonator.

When you say "knock out" you mean sort of hollowing out the resonator knocking out its internals?

Sorry, should've been clearer. I meant cutting it off and just welding in stainless steel piping there.

This is true, if you have headers or no cat then resonator is possible.

Lb,
just go for it. Worse case scenario, another cut, resonator and welds.
