Power gains with a 17% pulley?

anyone know what kind of power gains will be seen with a 17% pulley? Is there a significant power difference between a 17% and 19%? Any information would be a great help. Thanks

Don't know about 17% vs 19% but one sure does notice the improvement going from a 15% to a 17%.

I love my 17%. Still have stock crank pulley. No slipping. No squealing. No nothing except a lot of fun power.

I just got my 17% installed the other day with a gatorback belt and man does it scream like a banshee. I LIKE IT! But any way, from what I hear the power is in the low end torque. I tried looking for real dyno numbers comparing the two, but I never came up with anything.

Cool, thanks alot guys. Sounds like this thing is going to be a blast. I've also heard about some over-heating issues.....anyone know about that?

No overheating here and that's even taking Icarus on the Dragon. Well, maybe the brakes where a little warm. That extra power in a run like that takes a little more stopping power. I'm upgrading to braided brake lines, higher performance brake fluid and green stuff pads. Since I'm not autocrossing I probably don't need more than that.

No issues with a 17% pulley on the street, just lots of fun. Make sure you use the correct size belt.

I'm planning to go with a 2% oversized crank pulley together with my 15% SC pulley I already had installed.

I appears none of you went to larger injectors? Are any of you considering it? Also, did any of you who have an ECU tune (GIAC or MTH) notice a significant difference when you did THAT? Thanks.

I was one of the first (if not the first) to run a 17% on these boards and i luved it. I did not have any issues, was running stock software and injectors and there was not a day that i did not bring the car to redline in the first 3 gears.

I have MTH Tuner File. Check out this thread for more info on that.

I'm considering injectors but not yet. I would consider a throttle body upgrade first. I have yet to get AFR measurements done. Those will give MTH more info on fine tuning things both before a TB or injector upgrades. The measurements after that file would guide me in the correct direction as to which one to get first. At this time I'm thoroughly enjoying what I have. It's a blast and not one lick of trouble!

Some people throw everything on at once. I have a hard time not knowing what each mod is doing along the way without measuring each step (see MTH thread). If I threw everything on at once and didn't get the performance I thought I should then I could have a difficult time knowing which mod to focus on. The install costs are a little higher doing it one at a time but that's ok with me. I would rather be slow and steady so my car can be fast and steady.

I have Dinan Intake, Exhaust, Throttle Body, Wires, JCW Plugs and Injectors, and a ProMINI 17 percent pulley. I need software BADLY.

In the high end she screams. In the low end I'm a little bit boggy. Too much fuel I think. I also have the Dinan boost kit minus the pulley (obviously.)
