I would imagine the videos don't do it justice.

Are you going to be showing off that exhaust this weekend at the Milwaukee event?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to hear that exhaust in person. Maybe see you around.

invest in some ear plugs.....it sounds like a track car...... not kind of like one ... but a track car..... read loud, aggressive, snarly, with mucho attitude, gauranteed to make you smile/pee your pants (in a good way), especially when you realize it is YOUR car...... have fun and post often with upates.....while it is not my baby, I do feel like its "uncle."

I'll second that! The inside noise around is more than irritating. At times it is unbearable. Ah, the price of progress and early adoption.

Looking forward to the revised (read– quieter version)

This exhaust should be sold and advised as "Track Only" ...IMHO

When/if the resonator gets added that will make a difference...... my comments were made regarding when the exhaust is full open....not in the quiet mode.....no plate installed...... in full open all the stink about sound goes out the window.... you should expect it to be loud....it is just surprising coming from a Mini

In regards to my comments, I call things how I see (hear) them .

I'm by no means not liking loud - my exhaust is quite a bit louder and barkier than stock, trust me

i'll second that one.

i think the clip doesn't do the zorst justice. The WMS sound clip was phenomenal (almost like the price). I can't see why the system is so expensive. USD200 for the switch is ok i guess, but USD900 for a catback? That's JCWesque

I think the major difference is twofold...one it's being developed by a small company, with small product runs, and two...as far as performance it hands down flows better than any other product out there. Also, it is the only exhaust on the market that allows for the placement of a dump valve.

If I remember correctly the flow numbers on the JCW exhausts were poor to say the least...

I really like the fact that its "deep." Some of the cheap exhausts sound like tin cans. Personally, I think that i'll save the 1k and do a oneball.

it's just that i can't see where that price tag comes from....fair enough the 200 switch, i'm not gonna argue with that cos its a first, but i can't see where the $900 price tag comes from. Why does is cost so much? Ok so it's a well made system, but so is the milltek. What are we paying for?

The system is larger 3", I believe uses a better quality stainless and is better built than the Milltek.

I don't have any problem with the cost when the quality is this high.

if i could pick up the system here in aus, i might consider it, as it was the best sounding exhaust that i'd heard, but shipped to australia, even without the switch (which i really want), the price would be ridiculous

well you can get different grades of SS...but seriously...its not gonna make a difference....so what if your exhaust is what shiney?? its not like its gonna rust through...

Just put my borla race on and love it...I say stick with a company that knows exhausts...they have done the whole trial and error bit and desing flaws etc..been around building just exhausts for years..borla, magnaflow etc...they know whats goin on...

don't take this the wrong way, im sure randy is smart and has an idea of what he is doing...but i trust a company that has been around if im gonna be spending that kinda cash...

Random Technology made the first run of the exhausts for Randy. Now I'm not an industry expert...but I'd say they have a pretty reputable name. Paying for the first run, means your paying directly for the R&D...and especially on a piece like this that is more of an 'enthusiasts' piece there aren't going to be a couple thousand out there for Randy to recoup his losses on. How many people have this exhaust on...20 at the most I'd assume...Imagine the price if there were only 20 miltek exhausts made.

The way I look at it, I have, at the very least, supported a small company in the Mini world, and out of it I have an exhaust that I really like. Granted it's to loud for most right now (and I'd be willing to bet Ill like it even more with a resinator), but the sound, and potential sound for the second run is like no other exhaust on the market for the MCS. I just listened to the Miltek exhaust clip from their site, and it sounds like a vaccum cleaner compared to the RWM exhaust. And last but not least...it flows better than anything out there. And for me (again, not for everyone) that's the whole point of an exhaust.

I can back that up... Random did make the exhausts and they are outside of Atlanta..which is how I got involved...... Random has an incredible facility and does some amazing work.... batches this small are hard on everyone.... the biggest problem is not in the fabrication but the trial and error of the development...... the going back and forth and trying to describe etc was about impossible for the fine tune portion..... the WMS is very close to being what it was supposed to be... I do think a resonantor and possible redesign/simplify the muffler will "make it happen"..... I think Randy is very close and having the mfg done in CO will make all the difference. This thing makes power no doubt....I don't think anyone who has bought it has opened it up yet, when that happens....the posts will be full of superlatives......

Agreed . . that's the whole point. This system should be the best of both worlds.
