UniChip = Buttery Goodness...

First off, I'd like to say thanks to Chad, and the guys at Detriot Tuned for such a quick turnaround, and for a great tune. I am running an Alta intake, and an M7 pulley on the B map.

I just got back from my first drive and I can feel the difference. Above 4K in 2nd gear I can now feel myself being pulled into my seat a little, something that haden't happened before the UniChip. The smoothness is also something that I noticed right away. It seems like a more refined power curve, and a more refined engine in general, it doesn't seem as peaky as the other small FI engines I've had (including this one).

I read through the instructions once, and installed the ECU in about 10 minutes (I kept the switches in the engine bay as I will stay on the B map). I can only imagine that it will get a little quicker once the ECU "settles" into its new surroundings, just as it did in stock form. Although I can't compare to MTH, and GAIC, I am happy with the results of the UniChip install.

Also, I installed with no codes, or warning lights.

Edit: Also thanks to Paul for selling it to me for a great price!!

I concur the above but I got mine with a map from WMS. I reinstalled my Unichip the other night after having it removed while my engine was replaced. The engine's power is great and the modified exhaust note is also welcomed.

I would like to do a custom tune but I need to find a local tuner that does Unichip for a decent price.

Very nice...... I like mine quite a bit..... I have recommended that when they come up used for sale for $300s that people jump on them. You guys are lucky to have Ryan close to work with you..... something we do not have in Atl for Unichip

When installed at WMS, I asked Randy how long the chip would take to "settle in." He said about ... oh, there it was, settled. The chip does not learn, just as the MTH software doesnt' need 500 miles to adapt. What you got is all you're going to get--however what you feel might change over time as your mind and soul adapts.
Enjoy the Unichip--I've had mine for nearly 10k miles and I still enjoy adapting every time I motor on out.
cheers, phil
