Randy (or Pilo): In the whole scheme of the intake world, how does this intake compare with the rest of the market in terms of loudness, and smooth powerband? (including Stock, please!)

Thanks very much in advance,
Ryan
(if I like your answer I may bail out of the Madness group-buy and preorder this Pilo Intake )

If the powerband is good sign me up for one - if it won't be available in 4 months I'll put the money down now! And MiniPilo - you've still got more work ahead of you - designing a killer logo!

Honestly, I think that it sounds very nice. A great Supercharger Whine and smooth power delivery. THe manufacturing will be finished for the first 15 unit by early next week, and depending how fast they sell, I will put in for more. Randy has advised me that there are several Pre-Orders, and some of those people have been in contact with me. If you wish to be part of the first group, Let randy know. And Again at a cost of 145 (Lower that the group buy for a rogue with over 20 units) A reall Great Cost per HP.

And Design of an Intake... Hmm... mabye this could be a Contest???? Hmm... I will have to talk to the Admin of MCO and see what is allowd in the terms of contests...

Thanks for all your support and help.

The best bang for your buck is to forgo the heatshield and buy your own universal style filter. Heatshields are a bit of a gimmick on supercharged engines. I'm not saying they're completely useless but intake temp plays a fairly insignificant role in this application. If cheap is what you want, universal filter is what you want.

Dear Minipilo:
Great job with the new intake kit. Got any other ideas in the works that could come out like this project? I'd like to know because had I known you were going to have this ready so soon I might have not got a Madness intake and got your instead. Nice Green color by the way- would be great with a BRG mini.
Thanks for taking the time and energy to make the kit.

I have things in the works... I will start some new projects after the 14th of may.. Am very busy until then. I hope to come out with some things that may be out there already, and some things that probably are not. I hope that all pjojects go as well as this one, and hope that your input will again be a great part of my projects. What parts would people like to see that do not already exist ?

Thanks

Congrats on the grassroots development of the new intake. I know what it takes to get something like this done and I'm sure you're ready to reap the rewards!!
I can't wait to get my hands on on one for project "Out Motoring" and welcome the excellent price It's nice to see a different color/brand filter than the Madness/Roque/Turner/ and now Mini Mania/K&N - just for diversity sake alone. That will make this puppy stand out in the crowd.

Anyway as soon as a few units are ready for distribution I will offer them through OutMotoring.com, I'm sure the MINI community will welcome a product that is'nt artificiallly overpriced.

Cheers

I got one for ya that you might sell alot of..... an adjustable front sway bar.... even better would be one that was quick to intall take off.... even a circle track style bar would be cool.... where you could change bar thickness quickly.... I have toyed with the idea of developing a circle track (blade style) bar for the the MINI down the road but you are welcome to give it a try before I do....

Update:

Manufacturing is being held up a little because of a late shipment of a Stainless Steel tube that the filter and intake hose will mount to. It should be arriving today, as it was supposed to arrive yesterday, so the whole thing should be shipping by next week. The good part of that is that the winner of the Logo Contest will know before he has to order one.!

Keep those submissions coming, and I'll get this intake out ASAP.

(we will have enough tubing for a while so this won't happen again)

>>well, what you can do is line the inside of it with 100 One Dollar Bills from all the money you save. But really it is similar in concept, different Filter Element though. HP marks are right around the same.
thats a good idea
was looking at the mini-madness intake before.
lucky haven't buy it yet
this 1 really does look very good to me, and i like the nice green colour as well

Thanks, I have spent a lot of time researching this, and hope that it is not the last product by Plo Racing. I have ordered some testing equipment that will be measuring g-forces and horse power so that I can figure out many different things about the mini!
