Has anyone installed this intake? It's similar to the BMP design but appears to have a seal at the bottom of the heat shield (unlike the BMP). If so, I'd be interested in any numbers--or even general impressions. Thanks.

Ethos,

the BMP intake also have those seals and makes a consistant 4 hp.
however, better throttle response is generally the big gain with this filter.

if you want, i'll sell you mine for $90 US.

i got a madness intake on the way.

My impression was that the bmp intake allowed for some airflow from the engine compartment--sounds like that's not correct? If you've got a used bmp intake for 90, i'll definitely give it a try. The choices are more limited for those of us who want to use a strut tower brace.
