Carolina PULLEY install....... any1 need HELP??
This past weekend i just installed my M7 16% reduction pulley. This thing added great power. In turns, the wheels break loose. If anyone needs help in the carolina area or willing to drive to my place, I will charge a small fee and help you install your pulley. If you have all the right parts, it should take about 3 hours to do the job. If anyone is interested messgae me. I have the pulley tools, so all you need is the pulley and belt. You can get your hands dirty and say you installed the pulley yourself. Good luck guys and talk to you later. SPIKE
Hey, alot of things go on far from here. I am down for making a pulley party... If people do not have the parts, I will buy everything and work up a price on a complete install from scratch. I like the M7 16% reduction pulley. They go brand new for $150.00. If anyone is interested, let me know. The only thing is you can watch and help doing the work, but No Warrenty though. I will place a pick of my pulley installed on my car. I Make sure the work is done good. The price for installing is $150.00.... If anyone is interested, please let me know. The work takes about 3 hours and i am open for weekends... I will be at the GAP too... Hope to talk to you guys later... Jason Aka Spike
Most places are charging about 250 to 300 for just an install and thats without the parts. I am pretty much Half the price. I am doing the work out of my garage in Rock hill, SC. I am trying to make a deal with Peter at M7 tuning on Reduction pulleys. I will be in touch on this forum... Spike

Good deal! I tried to install a 15% pulley in my '04 over the weekend and got to the point of taking off the belt tensioner and noticed that my crank pulley had made contact with the frame, preventing me from raising the engine the remaining ~1.5" needed to get the crowfoot puller onto the stock SC pulley.
Rather than getting creative, I abandoned the install and returned everything back to original.
Has anyone else had this problem? I did find an easy way to remove the driver's side motor mount bolt after 2 hours of fighting with it

Must've been a good weekend to swap out pulleys, as I was doing mine, too. I had the same problem with the crank pulley preventing me from getting any higher, also. However, I was still able to compress the belt tensioner enough to slip the belt off without too much trouble using a short crowbar.
The two toughest parts for me were actually unbolting the belt tensioner assembly (the rear 16mm bolt was tough to get to) and removing the old pulley. Yes, I tried to use a traditional claw-type pulley puller, and NO, it didn't work. My advice - get a pulley puller that's made for the SC pulley on the MCS-rent, borrow, beg, buy, lease, barter, whatever - but DON'T try and use a generic puller. TRUST me on this one. But I've been in touch with the tech guys at Alta about it, and they've helped me out a BUNCH. Ashley will be back up and running this evening, whenever I finally get off work.
Thanks also to Spikedacrzyman for your help via PM. I'll finish getting it all sorted out tonight and be back in touch with you.

If anyone needs help i am still available. I am thinking now since i installed the 16% reduction pulley i won't be able to hit the gap as hard as i wanted too. The wheels break lose in 2nd gear around turns. Last time i could excelerate out of the turn without any spin. Now i will have to watch my self... See if i can run some BIKES @ the gap.... We still have some time if anyone needs help on an install... Please let me know. You can contact me @ 803-493-8690. Later Spike
