to be honest, impulse. Everyday for the last two weeks: 15 or 19......15 or 19......15 or 19......15 or 19......15 or 19......15 or 19......15 or 19......15 or 19......15 or 19......15 or 19......15 or 19......15 or 19......15 or 19......15 or 19......15 or 19......15 or 19......15 or 19......15 or 19......15 or 19......15 or 19......15 or 19......15 or 19......15 or 19......:c onfused::c onfused::c onfused::c onfused: :conf used::conf used:. <--My thought process.

I guess it was talking to Eric at Helix... He has done a 19% for my friend who has had no problems, and I told him, look, I'm not going to a track, or drag racing, I just like to drive really really really really really fast on the highways. And he told me a 19% would be perfect for me, and since he's a professional I trust him.

Anything goes wrong I could always make a quick run down to Philly, be like "YOU'RE WRONG!!! ARGH" and then change the belt. Go with the 19% if you just want the power, and make sure to get a new belt. Good luck in your decision.

sorry for the smileys. I went overboard. Love your mini, that was my top color choice before I went with pure silver/black...

I got the 17% doen last thursday and now problems what so ever. The car is so much faster and screams so much louder! The the pilo intake and no liner on the hood, I scare the crap out of people when I am going down the road and the supercharger is screaming! I have some people ask me why does my car sound funny? I just have a nice grin on my face . You will enjoy the ride to helix and also have some really good conversations with him! He is a great guy and he knows his stuff. My pulley install was not planned and I just gave in with knowing I can trust someone like him. The best part about it is he is only about 30+ minutes from me, depending on how fast you drive lol. I plan on for him to do some more work for me in the summer. Just need to save for my own place first. Please let us know what you think of the 19%. By the way we should get together sometime, and anyone else in the NJ area! I was at Helix for over 4 hours lol, mostly just talking and enjoyed every bit of when he took the motor apart lol! He has a good sense of humor. Enjoy your trip over there, it is going to be a good one for you!

Garrett, have you checked out nemini.org? There are a bunch of runs scheduled there, especially when the weather gets warmer. Or you could do what Chris (silverbullet) did and create your own. He came up with a great one.

I'm always contemplating these mods, pulleys, exhausts, etc...I'd love to get rides in both of your cars to feel the difference.

Yes I am a member over there. I only go over there once in awhile and spend most of my mini needs on here. I wish there were more activity over there. I will have to swing over there today and check out what is going on. I am always down for a good mini drive/day.

Oh, and BTW, congrats chris! Last we spoke this wasn't going to happen for a while. Glad everything worked out.

Garrett - There's a dyno day on march 25 up at swift motorsports in connecticut with a number of nj people involved. I believe M7 will be represented there.

Hey Mark-

Yeah, I am just going to rotate the tires and pray they hold for about 2 more months. Would have to wait for longer anyway as I would need boat loads more cash. Should be good to go, and by all means you can take a ride in the 19%!!!!!!

Garrett-

Sent you a PM, lemme know what you think...

Please be careful with your bald tires in the rear Pushing it in the twisties, especially in the rain, will make the car want to rotate. Mileage-wise, you'll benefit from rotation; safety-wise, it's a dangerous thing to do.

Right on ... Now I think you have "pushed" me over the edge and I am going to do a 19 as well.

I lost some boost with the big IC so that will be what I tell myself that really I am just making up for that (ok and gain a bit )

question ???
If I have a 15 on now ... my swop to a 19 should be really easy ... do you think I could do it with the engine in place ???
...and or once I back off the mounting screws how easy to get the unit off.

Well apparently what I have heard is that Eric @ Helix, lifts up your motor, bashes your pulley with a crowbar until it comes off... It's a "sit-back-and-watch-your-warranty-die" show... I would assume you'd have to do that for whatever pulley you want to put in, but I'll ask him on Friday..Can't wait!

Check out the link on nemini about the swift motorsports dyno day. One of the M7 guys has posted in it (forget his name), so if you find it you can pm him.

mb

edit - his name on nemini (and here I think) is Maxmini
