p.s. Before you flame, clobber and otherwise smite me I do know that it's more involved than this to turbocharge an engine. Compression, manifolds, etc. I just posted it for comment and to really see if anyone has tried it.

This reminds me of the time when I was 10 years old and mounted a model airplane engine and propeller in a tin can, then attached it to the intake of my 5 hp Briggs and stratton minibike engine. I was the only kid on the block with a supercharged minibike.

 

But did your supercharged minibike work? :smile:

 

It ran and we all thought it was cool and the real thing, but who knows if it made a difference or not.

 

I had seen something similar on ebay. When I checked the sellers feedback, it was mostly negative. Some said that it might do more damage than good.
I wouldn't try it myself.

 

These Fans are Total Scams and Under 100% restricted flow can only Produce 0.07 PSI of Boost! That is 7/100 of a pound of boost! (A True Turbocharger can easily produce over 15 lbs of boost!)

A 200 hp engine could see an increase of approximately 1 hp ONLY if the Blower was able to keep up with the engines intake needs! Which at a maximum of only 230cfm It cannot!

These Items Do Not Increase HP!
They are only $17 marine Blowers that Will Hinder Your Cars Performance, And Can Cause Major Engine Damage after the plastic blades break off and get sucked up into Your Vehicles Engine! Is it Worth the Risk?

These inline fans are only 130-230cfm 3-5 amp $15-$30 marine bilge Blowers using plastic fan blades. They ARE NOT The 750cfm 50 amp high output Electric Superchargers you may have heard about. These 50 amp blowers use a high-power electric motor which claim to be able to slightly pressurize the intake air with up to 1 psi boost and give you from 4% - 6% GUARANTEED horsepower gains for about $300.00 (Just Look them up and see for yourself) They also say you need to use two in tandem for small block v8's to show any significant HP gains! If these 50amp 750cfm Electric Blowers can only give you up to 1 lb of Boost and 4-6% HP gain which is at most 12 hp on a 200 hp engine. How Can These Scammers Claim 20-60 hp gains on a 3.5amp bilge blower? Do you know how? Because they can say whatever they want!

Your engine intake will actually be restricted due to this type of fan being in your intake! Causing a loss of Power! The Engine Damage will be (and has been) caused with the in line models when your engine is running at high RPM's and these fans then spin (due to your engines intake) at over 2x their intended RPM's. These fans were not intended for high speeds they will encounter causing the plastic fan blades to break off and go into your engine! This is if you have a 4 cyl engine! Imagine if you own a 6 cyl or V8 and place one of these fans on them?

Dang people can be guillable sheep, can't they??!!!??

Major Joke, don't waste your money on that peice. What amazes me is the people out there must actually buy them since this company can afford to have a website! I actually e-mailed a guy on eBay that was selling both these and the "resistor" BS that is supposed to increase HP.He had tons of nagative feedback with people saying it didn't work, etc, I told him to do himself a favor and refrain from selling this junk in the Mini cooper section of eBay. He never responded, but I haven't seen any more lof them listed. Maybe he got the hint.

 

That one is BS, but there is one that exists.. http://www.electricsupercharger.com That can actually create 1lb of boost. That is decent, and can add a little HP, it runs around 299 or so.. which is expensive, and not worth the money IMO.

 

Not to mention, would you buy something from someone who can't be bothered to see if his website is actually readable?
