i had Alta first, then switched to JCW, can't be happier, you are looking between $199-$400 depends on the application and brand

Webb has a new product out, the HDI, that looks like it's getting pretty good numbers.

JCW, the extra $$ is worth it.

Best deal,
http://www.myminiparts.com/proddetai...rod=JCAB&cat=7
$349, with the injectors $539.
You can find it cheaper on Ebay or on the Market Place Forum.
I bought mine for $250. Just shop around.

Well, this is a long debated subject on this forum. The fact of the matter is, it all comes down to preference. Take a look at all of the choices and see what kind of money you want to spend.

Most of the intakes out on the market make around the same amount of power. Some make more than others through superior design, but not by much. Aethetics and sound are the deciding factors for most. We sell most of the intakes on the market at competitive prices, so take a look at our store(www.webbmotorsports.com), and see what you like. We dont have hard numbers on our own intake(Webb Motorsports HDI Box) yet, but some people on this forum have done there own dyno tests, yeilding the most power of any intake on the market. If you have any questions feel free to call us. 303-683-4424.

The Webb HDI rocks... I put it on Friday and did a club run on Saturday. It took me about 45 minutes to put on since I took my time and was really looking around to see what else was in that area, since I'd never had the entire box out before. A mildly experienced person working on the Mini I'm sure could cut that time in half.

Very noticeable difference in how hard it pulls... especially above 4k RPMs. Not to mention it looks great on top of the performance. Sound under normal accelleration is minimal, very little difference until you start to get into the throttle. My girlfriend didn't notice any change until i pulled out into traffic and got into it pretty good.

We really need to put together a Intake reference thread like the exhaust one. Anyone else think so? To help with people making their mind on an intake.

I don't think it's possible. Unlike the exhaust sticky, weight isn't a big factor, we can't isolate the noise, and hp comparison would kind of be pointless. It's pretty much just be a list with pictures. Plus, using the search button isn't that difficult.

On a side note, the HDI looks like a secret box under the bonnet, like a prize or a tracker like those black boxes on air planes.

There's a dyno in another thread in this forum that has the Webb HDI intake pulling 5 hp more than the Alta, which has long been the HP king. And then there are all of the vague references to some minis from the underground who may or may not have tested intakes including the AGS and may or may not have numbers that may or may not be accurate

Aaaaaaannnnnnddddd the point is, get the one you want, the one that catches your eye and your heart, because it really doesn't matter. Oh yea, then get on here and argue why it's the best.

JCW intake is the best!

If people would just post product reviews ! We under utilize this feature and would be better than a thread for it is more specific in focus - pros, cons, ect...... and less blah, blah BS

I agree understand price range, set budget, buy the one you like AND BY ALL MEANS defend it as "THE BEST" in all future threads.
Having said that is it me or lately are all of the post along the lines of "which is best" or "which should I buy" . Come on people do a search - there are thread(s) on all of this stuff - read, edcate yourself and formulate an opinion. Got a question - activate that thread with a post.

There is no "best" in any of these products - each one has pros and cons - you need to understand them and select the one that best suits your needs and budget.

Excuse me for going off topic, but is the silicon tube that you can order with the Webb HDI supposed to help with something?

It is a larger diameter just like the Alta hose.
If you're looking to maximize flow then you will want it.

Mine is best b/c its what I paid for. j/k well almost I went with the ALTA because of the proven reliablity and larger gains for the $ the more effiecent the airflow the better off you are with power and gas mileage
