Dr Obnxos has a point...no horse power gain is easy to obtain or completely fool proof. What ever your choice of poison, you have to monitor the vitals and ramp power up carefully...Beware of agressive timing, monitor your A/F ratio, EGT, AIT...there's never too much information when you're motor's at stake Abusive driving techique can also break the best of machines no matter how well they were built...
Very true, Sid, but how on Earth are you gonna read all those gauges AT ONCE when you're a little distracted with driving? . J.k. Nothin but love, man, you know that! But SERIOUSLY!

That's, to me, the ultimate catch. At some point, you're just flying suspended in the wind, ya know??? Things can and will always go wrong sometimes, just like you and others say.... Gauges and attention can only try to tie up some loose ends. IMO. [yet, those are ends which absolutely MUST be tied up or else you're completely vulnerable!]

BTW, 1FAST, sorry about the continued saga, man! You're a good d00d, don't let the *ahem* bumps slow ya! One thing, though! GET A TUNE FOR NITROUS! Heh. Even if it means UNICHIP or something else... I believe Sid uses a special Unichip map... Timing is the devil for nitrous and high boost! Good luck, and nothin but love for ya too!

Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result...

LOL...I'm not staring at all the instruments all the time My point is to to monitor the instruments as you are testing various modifications. If all is well after a certain test period, then chances are that under most circumstances the performance should remain consistant. If all else fails, Venom's auto shut off safeguard can't be beat Then again, nothing is guarenteed...people have blown their motor just from poor driving habits:impatient

Larger fuel injectors and choosing the right size of Nitrous jet that is appropriate for the injectors based on reading from A/F gauge

Bigger injectors wont change your a/f ratio by itself since your software program is telling it how much to flow.... even if you put a 700cc injector on, the comp is only gonna duty cycle it to its normal setting of what the smaller ones were doing already.....SAFC-II will allow you to manual adjust the curve which should be done on the dyno to be perfect.

Well it was both exhaust valves that took out the plug which killed my new piston. minor oversight but could of been ALOT worse ( the block ). I found out it wasnt the fact that i didnt see any imperfection on the seats but that the seats were burnt and werent sealing well to begin with that i couldnt tell.

So all in all, its back and running fine except for the fact of losing about $1000 plus a $125 for an extra Wiseco piston i trashed which is now on my table as an ashtray.

I am noticing that when i rev it it idle, when the rpms come back down they go below idle and feels like it wants to stall but goes back up...I know the car has to relearn itself so we'll see.

Thanx for everyones input and concern.

Barry

Well everything seems to ok , so far!

Weird thing is.....I still feel like i have all the power i did before but the boost gauges is showin less boost and my top end isnt all that it was before.

I cant see going from stock compression to 8.5 would make a difference.
