Drivetrain pully question
pully question
I have buddy that has an 06 JCW car and wants to do a 19% pully in addition. I am trying to do some homework for him, and my tech buddy will be doing the install. I was looking at the M7 16% + 2% crank pully, the Alta, and the Helix. Any opinions on any of these, or maybe even something different? Thanks
The JCW has a roughly 14.5% reduction pulley to start with, so a 15 or 16% would really be a waste. I would forego the supercharger pulley and just do the 2% crank pulley.
Feel free to contact us with any other questions.
Hope that helps!

I would have to agree with Randy! The crank pulley would be your best bet. Also for an easier install then putting in a new pulley. Randy, supports the the crank pulley and has done much testing on it! It should be for a safe item. One of the best thing you can do is research everything and ask questions. Makes for a more enjoyable adventure! Best of luck!

I forogt to add, the crank pulley sheads off weight! Less weight that the car has to spin the better! So not only will you be building more boost, but you well get better acceleration. I believe Alta stated that with the weight savings, it acts as if a 100 punds have been dropped from the car. A 100 pounds is equal to a 10th of a second on your 1/4 times!
