27PSI plus 100 Octane...

Just another dyno chart to show how big of a horsepower junky I am. This was a the SPI stage 2 kit with a 15% pulley (27psi total). I made a lot of torque and almost as much horsepower. Check out that torque curve. Needless to say the car has trouble hooking up in 3rd. Next week the a different superchager pulley goes on.

AWSOME STUFF RYAN!!! I'll tell you what...if you are going to stock pulley, I'll put $ down that you are going to hit the 290s...and prolly on less boost...

I plan on being a good bit over 290. I am doing my fuel system this week and I will hopefully source a pulley by next week. My goal right now is 350whp.

Now you're doing...

what my 5.0 NA EFI motor is pushing! 3x the power density, but at probably 3x the price.....

V8s are cheap!

Really impressive numbers. What's your tire life like?

Matt

Ryan,

What clutch are you running to keep up with your ~300ft-lbs of torque?

I am using the Spec Stage 3 clutch and Spec flywheel. They don't have trouble holding the torque in any gear.

Awesome! :-) How many miles do you think you'll be able to get out of it?

Yes I pulled up beside a 5 slow last night. Needless to say I pulled a disapearing act on the guy. V8s are cheap but heavy.

Also my tires are taking a beating even on low boost (22psi). It started raining last night and I ended spinning 4th gear pulling on the highway.

I currently have about 15,000 miles on the clutch. Still grabs as good a as new. I do baby the clutch on a daily basis. But under certain conditions I flat shift the car and do slip clutch launches at 4,000.

Why does your torque drop off so sharply at higher RPM? Are you reducing boost as RPM rises?

Spillman, you're my hero. I think the MINI I have on Gran Turismo 4 has around 320 hp, that's probably as close as I'll ever get.

Yes boost is cut back sharply. Remember now that the supercharger puts out more boost at higher rpms. I am making max boost from the turbo around 3-4 grand and then it cuts back to maintain 27psi.

I'm guessing the major drop in torque is then due to the reduced compressor efficiency [going from mostly turbo boost to mostly s/c boost], if you're indeed running 27psig across the board.

Exactly... And that is why I should pick up a good bit of power from swapping the pullies.

Are you going to a stock sice pulley or a larger diameter?

Spillman,
Great numbers. I see you've upgraded the clutch but what have you done internally to the motor to handle the new numbers and future numbers....

I am going to try a larger diameter first. And then see what the stock pulley does.

Internally I have CP pistons ARP head studs and rod bolts. Everything else is stock.

Who knows... Maybe next week I will fill the tank up with C16 and see what happens.
