Aftermarket Resonator?

Can any one recommend, or at least suggest, some aftermarket resonators? I'm doing a custom exhaust, and would like to be prepared in case there's too much noise or drone.

BTW, I know about the Supersprint resonator/straight pipe, but it costs way too much and really all I want is the resonator.

Thanks!

MagnaFlow you can use.

Scuderiamini build his cutom exhaust.

Thanks for the link.

As far as I know, Berk's (ScuderiaMini) exhaust doesn't have a resonator, just the Magnaflow muffler. I'm looking for a resonator to put in the straight pipe that will reduce the noise of the custom exhaust I'm going to build (which, incidentally, is very similiar to Berk's).

I used a SS magnaflow on my turbo miata. Really helped cut down on the noise at slow speeds/idle (around the neighborhood) but it didn't choke the power or sound when i wound it out....

bought it from summit, i think it was a 12" long case, 16" overall. Maybe in the $60-70 range?

Thanks for the suggestion -- should I just look for something with the same inlet/outlet diameter as the straight pipe I'm going to use? Any other characteristics I should look for?

Was it a shaped like a tube (fittable into a straight pipe), or more like a standard muffler?

The Alta design is pretty similiar to what I want to do. Mine won't be as pretty, since I'm budget minded, but close. Just think of it as a single sided Magnaflow, with a different tip.

So, any other suggestions on manufacturers or sellers? ebay seems to have some inexpensive possibilities...

Also, does anyone know how (or if) the length of the resonator affects the sound reduction?

Yes - they offer a variety of inlet/outlet dimensiones. search universal resonator. example -

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-5-U...31571850QQrdZ1

Read carefully sometimes the offer is for 1 and other times for 2.
