The subject name says it all. Anyone with an idea or have the samething in there car. It is most noticeable under light load just crusing at a speed that put the engine at that RPM.

I may not have my MCS yet, however I experienced the same problem with my 1990 Chevy S-10. Turned out to be an exhaust heat shield that had come loose. Luckily it was a warrantee item.

That is one of 2 things...

Idler pulley bearing or waterpump bearing. Both of these happenned in my MCS and it was the exact same RPM range.

One day fix, the dealer may have to order the part.

Hope this helps.

Kesh 16,900 mi. MCS

It could very well be either of those bearings - it's always tough to tell from just a post without hearing the car.

My other offerings would be the shifter cables - they sometimes make a slight vibration as well.

Does anything you do change it? Where does it seem to be eminating from? What's the pitch?

I feel it in the seat the most near the E-brake and in the accelerator pedal. The noise is a low hum.

It sounds more like the heat deflector in the center tunnel. This is held up by several 10mm spinners and a few 8mm bolts. Check them under the car (or have your dealer do it under warranty). What also sometimes happens is the center exhaust mount on the chassis lets the exhaust just barely touch the heat shield - bend the shield slightly and you won't have the problem any more.
