I do not know anyone has tried. But it makes sense to me in order to cool the engine down as well as the SC. Here is where I will put my alcohol/ water injection. (See Picture)

• One for the Air Intkae
• One for the engine after IC

 

I think someone with the Cosworth M7 MINI has this, I would do a search.

 

Bill [CooperSS] has it. His car lost power, I think, because they couldn't get the delivery mixture right. I'm pretty sure that MSFITOY has it too.

 

That is correct...it did lose power with both water and alcohol.

And by the way, that image belongs to M7....

Why do you think it lost power? Was it tuned for the water injection? Where was it plumbed and finally ( ) did you measure IATs or CATs?

MSFITOY installed it and still has it on there so I guess his worked out well... I've been thinking of doing the same thing, so if anyone could shed some light on the subject it'd be appreciated...

 

Any further thoughts on water/alcohol injection? There are some serious kits out there.

 

I believe that MSFITOY stated before that he was able to fit his water injection nozzle directly to the M7 DFIC's bungs - that's something I'd like to try too.

This kit on eBay from Coolingmist looks quite promising, and seems much more cost-effective than Aquamist or others on the market.

 

Petrich, and I believe a few others, had better success on the intake side of the IC...

My other car is a supercharged X3 3.0i, and I have a coolingmist system (check them out directly rather than through e-Bay). Mine is a basic one nozzle system and is installed just after the supercharger so there is room for the mist to disperse before going through the throttle body. I installed it because there was no good space to install an intercooler without some major work, and after fiddling with the mix for a while it works out great. I run a mix of approx 4:1 water to denatured alcohol.
