Another question... have not really extensively looked under my MCS but just wondering what if that extra long part on the UUC was to replace the Cat. Conv.
And if a straight pipe (omitting the cat. conv.) would have any benefit overall.

The Cat. Conv is part of the header, so by changing out your exhaust with the UUC or any other cat back system leaves the cat intact hence the name cat back.
Basically, the stock exhaust system is in two pieces, the first being the header/cat as one piece that goes back and down, and then the "racetrack"/mufflers/tips, which is the second part.
I have the magnaflow, and on that system, there is a resonator that is right after the cat, which is where you bolt the system on from.
