Short-Shifter substitute.

Hey guys, was just wondering if anybody has any info. on this:

http://new.minimania.com/web/Item/NM.../InvDetail.cfm

It seems to work the same way as a complete short-shifter kit, but keeping the stock shifter.
Just wanted some feedback, what you guys heard/read, if anybody has one, etc...

Any help is appreciated.
Thank you,
Leo.

Cool, thanks for the reply, guys.

I've heard from another friend of mine that some people have had problems with the unit popping out of place. I figured it's because of the screws that attach it to the shifter, they seem to be weak by themselves, but I believe with some zip-tight or something like that it should stay in place ok.

I did get it, so I'll let everybody know how things go.

Thank you again,
Leo.

When I had my Helix short shifter installed, it did NOT include the dust cover shield.

Thus when driving for an extended period of time I can feel some heat coming up through the shift boot.

Helix's SSK cost me $40, though, so I don't know if the dust plate is worth $49.95....but a dust plate would be nice to have.....

Rogue's kit with 3 circumferential set screws covered by heat shrink tube feels more secure to me. No cover plate but nothing has accumulated up there since 03

Cool, thanks for the feedback everybody.

I actually purchased a cheaper kit:
http://www.mini-madness.com/index.as...PROD&ProdID=49

And it included a heat-shield, not as fancy as minimania, but should do the job just as well. I e-mailed them with a bunch of questions and mini-madness was more than helpfull. Plus they guarantee the product 100%, which is always a .

Should be getting here in about 2-3 days (since I ordered it on a Friday and have to spend the whole Sat/Sun just biting my nails ).

Will install everything (plus an exhaust system) on Thursday, will let everybody know how it goes.

Thanks again,
Leo.
