ATT: BOTTLE HEADS nitrous consumption

i am thinking of using nitrous, how many times can you hit the steroid button before it's empty? what is the best set up? what is the best hp shot to use? any info would be helpful.

wet kit at about 70hp. We were using just under a 1lb a run (dragstrip)but performance will drop as you get to 5lb in a 10lb bottle

Do you have any pictures of your setup? I've put a direct port kit in my car, but i havn't installed it as i'm upgrading my fuel setup. I made a new 10AN fuel rail and will be running new 8AN line to and from my tank.

Just make sure your over all whp isn't over 250. If so then you will be needing pistons shortly. However once you have pistons then you are good to over 400whp. And then you will loose a head gasket if you go too far over the 400whp mark.

When jetted for 50hp, nitrous will flow at about 2lbs per minute so a 10lb bottle lasts 5 minutes until empty, running more and more rich toward the end (approximately $10 per minute). It's like renting a turbo...

At 100hp a 10lb bottle lasts 2.5 minutes
At 200hp a 10lb bottle may well last longer than the engine

Those are the main problems with nitrous; when you really want to use it, the bottle is invariably empty. And it is soo easy to get a little too greedy with the jets.

Isellem,

We tried but any activation in 1st some of 2nd gave us wheelspin or axle tramping(fwd and backwards rather than up and down). The car is very track dependant at our RWYB 300fwd cars lifting the rubber off.

We have now bought a NX/FJO controller to cure that problem, so hopefully will be using some/alot out of the hole in a controllable manner. Its a wicked bit of kit check it out www.fjoracing.com.

We will be starting out the year on slicks though as the track won't be good until Easter, then we'll put the drag radials back on, then again maybe we wont

How the hell you're going to activate the nitrous with no lsd and on those old street tyres is beyond me

Good luck

Autoxguy305,

When you say a direct port kit do you mean you have 4 foggers or 1 fogger
