I have had the Invidia on my car for the last 2 months now and am loving it more and more every day! Was at the track yesterday beating up on a few BMW 328i race cars (should have seen the looks on their faces
). A friend of mine has a similiarly modded MCS with a stock exhaust and you could see on the straight how much more I pulled on him, I had to let off when I was behind him. Alta Intake and Invidia together at WOT is an intoxicating sound. My friend drove my car on track and was grinning like a kid. His comment was "Wow this is just about is good as sex, and I luv sex!"
I do have one complaint though: There is a droning sound between 63mph and 72 mph in 6th gear. On highway I have to drive either above or below this speed to make it more comfortable on my ears. I was wondering what you other Invidia owners thought. With the seats down it is pretty tiring, seats up and parcel shelf in it is not that bad but a tad annoying. I'm thinking of laying some dynamat under the rear seats and trunk carpet to see if it will help.
From a performance and sound stand point it is amazing. Everyone agreed that when I went by the pits going into the first turn the sound of the car was amazing. But if you are doing the Invidia you got to have the Alta Intake as well. When I added the Invidia I also had my 15% pulley put on the same day, totally transformed the car. There is definitely more power from the Invidia as I have another friend who has an '05 and we had our pullies put on the same day. Driving the cars back to back is like night and day. I'd say at least 10hp. The blue flamed tips look great with the Hyper Blue Paint on my car.
I'll post a track video I have so you guys can hear what it's like.
oh, it seems like some of the Invidia owners are also Mac heads. I can't watch those videos either.
cheers

Mine does not drone that much at cursing on any speed...unless i step on it.
Yes the sound is killer. It's a real man sound in a boy body...hehe I have the same combo alta cai, 15 and invidia. it just f*&king awesome sound system...window down is my my default driving preference.
Even on the weekend that I'm not going anywhere i just fire the car up just to listen to the sound...I only hope that my neighbor love it too.
...and Yes again for the power. I feel like the power just keep comming from the first secon you floored it to the redline....that's it I'm going to fire up my car again.

MPR: You are the one that sold me on the Invidia back in January. I didn't even have my car yet and I bought it...thanks!
Also another thing to note, on the '05s there is the default burble/popping when you let off the throttle, with the Invidia you really hear it, very old British Sports Car-esque.
Another thing I noticed yesterday at the track is when flooring it you can actually hear a gushing air sound at the rear. I envision it as someone opening up a floodgate and water just exploding out. It's like a wooshing noise, it shows you how restricted the stock exhaust is. You should check out the whiteroofradio.com MINI podcast where they have Randy Webb on the show. He talks about how restricted the stock MCS exhaust system is along with other technical titbits about the MINI.

so when do we get the track videos, and im soo sold on this system. my buddy had an invidia on his sti and i loved the sound. now hearing the sound from your video really had me sold. thanks again for the vid.
I just had it installed today at midas.
i broke one of the bolts connecting from the cat to the rest of stock system and said forget it, im lazy, i'll pay someone else to do it. anyway, midas the big muffler shop, was going to charge me 2 hours worth of labor to install it but the mechanic said it went together better than any aftermarket exhaust he's ever seen. he cut the price in half because it only took him 30 minutes to install it. i think that's a pretty nice comment considering the guy installs aftermarket exhausts on customer's cars all day long.
the sound is amazing and i love the look of the tips. i had a quicksilver exhaust on my former cooper S and thought the build quality and sound were excellent. the invidia system is even better. i definitely recommend this to the daily driver who wants a sporty but not obnoxiously loud sound. there is very minimal drone at highway speeds. two thumbs up.

Decent system. Real Poor Customer Service
I have also purchased this system and used it for the last 3 months. It is definitely louder than the Miltek system but makes comparable power (seat of the pants feel) and has beautiful welds with great fit and finish.
My only complaint is the support (or lack of) for this exhaust system. I was unfortunate to recieve my Invidia with a badly bent tip. I contacted the dealer before installing and offered to ship it back to him at my expense for a replacement. He suggested that he would ship out a replacment tip and that I could install the system in the mean time. The tip was never shipped because the supplier did not stock or could not source them. I have been dealing with the dealer for the last three months with no avail and no resolution. Today, I decided to contact the Invidia North American distributor for a solution. I offered to purchase the tip and pay for all incurred shipping cost, but the rep refused to contact the manufacturer for this insignificant part (in cost) to help. His only suggestion was that I should buy a new exhaust system because individual tips will never be available.
It was difficult to accept that the retailer couldn't help me with the bent tip problem but I came to realize that the problem stemmed from very poor support from the distributor of Invidia. All Invidia buyers should hope that their exhaust hold up well, because replacement parts are just not available.
I also question whether the tips are Titanium. It appears to be too soft for titanium.

That is a very nice looking exhaust system
and I love the way it sounds... I can't wait to ask my wife if I can have some of my money to buy it... although she always says that it is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission...
did anyone have problems of bolting up the silver plate back onto the car? It's the plate that goes right underneath the battery box. For some reason after I install the invidia exhaust, it won't go all the way up without hitting the tips. My plate is not bolted up right now so does it make the exhaust sound louder from inside the car? Thanks.
Huh!?
did u turn the silver plate around and try fittin' it the other way?

Just grab the end of the plate with both hands and bend it down to the degree you want. It is flexible.
If you have a bent tip, it can be reshaped with some tapping from a small machinist hammer.

As far as the skidplate is concerned... I just took some channel-locks and bent it up and around to where it needed to be so it wouldn't hit my pipes. It is very maleable.
I love the system, and I would also be interested in dyno numbers. I dont really have the time/money to drive down into Houston to get the Mini dynoed.
