Water injection question

I am getting a MCS early next year. I am selling my Subaru STI which currently has an Aquamist 2D kit. I was thinking of moving the 2D to the Mini. Do any of the ecu reflash companies allow for custom programming to account for water injection. On my STI we had to lean out the mixture considerably to get maximum power.

I tinkered with water injection long ago on older cars. I don't think it is a good option for a MINI. A decent exhaust, intake, pulley and a bit of software reprogramming seem to make a world of difference on the S. My two cents...

Paulw,

Water injection is a wonderful option to extract the maximum power from the MINI engine under real world conditions. Follow the link above or do a <search> for a number of posts on the subject. The main advantages of water injection for the MINI are two: significant cooling of the intake charge resulting in improved charge density, and knock suppression which will help keep the ECU from pulling ignition timing under load.

Good luck,
