Drivetrain Just for fun...
Just for fun...
I recently sold some parts from my old MC and I now have $1000 to spend on my MCS. I'm looking for performance recommendations. If you were me, what would you buy based on the following info...
- I plan to track the car a couple times a year
- I go to the local drag strip a few times a year for kicks
- I plan to autocross the car
- It's a daily driver that I want to keep reliable
- Alta CAI
- 15% pulley
- OCC
- VGS mod
- Air diverter w/ sprayer
- EBC green stuff front brake pads
- Slotted & dimpled front rotors
- Braided stainless steel brake lines
- Yoko ES100 225/45/ZR17 tires
- M7 front splitter
- MTH Tuner program & cable
- Colder plugs
- Rear anti-sway bar
What are your plans for mods?
Power?
MTH & Exhaust Manifold (aka MTH Tuning Kit 1).
Control?
Rear sway bar, High Performance Drivers Education (help tighten the loose nut behind the wheel), Springs / Shocks or Coilovers. Quaife LSD
Acceleration?
Lightweight Wheels/Sticky Tires, Lightened Flywheel, better clutch

Been to Phil Wicks MINI driving school
Great experience!
I'd like a combo of power & handling... mods I can enjoy day to day and not just at the track. I want a little more power for the fun factor, but handling at the track is important.
