UUC exhaust

I want to get an exhaust and am considering UUC, Miltek, Magnaflow, and potentially Quicksilver. I want something deep and aggressive but don't want droning. I haven't seen that much info available on the UUC. Does anyone have any sound clips or information. Any recommendations?

We carry the UUC, when we can get it. It has been out of stock now for about a year, so don't hold your breath. It is a nice system, makes OK power gains, and is a sweet sounding system.

The Magnaflow does drone a bit, so I would rule that out. The Milltek is deeper sounding, but doesn't drone - our most popular seller. The Quicksilver is not deeper - it sounds a bit like a turbine at high RPM, as do all of the single sided systems (NRP, Alta, Dinan). The Borla Sport is louder than the Milltek, but not any deeper. It may be a tad higher pitched, but it also doesn't drone badly.

Hope that helps!
Randy

I have the UUC and man did it drone a lot at first.

Even now after 20K of driving on it, it drones exactly at 3000rpms on the highway. Another member suggest cracking the sunroof ever so slightly which indeed does reduce the drone.

However, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. The gurgle and performance you get out of it was worth it and though it's not quiet, it's definitely not annoying loud.

Kind of pricey @ $925, though......

Does anyone have any sound clips of the UUC? I'm debating between the Milltek and UUC. I've found some pretty good clips of the Milltek but the only UUC ones out there are from their website.

I will take some video of my UUC exhaust with my recently aquired digital camera.....

Btw I used some Home Depot "Tite Seal" and sealed up the two gaping holes in the boot that caused cabin droning at 3000rpms....And now the UUC is an absolute JOY.......

Okay, that got my attention. What holes did you seal up? Any pictures?

Thanks in advance.

I love my UUC....I listened to all the exhausts I could before I got mine and this one to me was the most unique and mean. While still maintaining class....not some buzzy blippy fart box.....

I am sure if you contact UUC direct they can help you with all you questions...they have always been friendly to me...buying or not...it only took about 3 days from the time I ordered it for it to arrive

Everyone I've talked to that has the UUC loves it. Unfortunately, they haven't had any in stock in a looooong time and don't have any idea when they'll get more. It's always "we'll know next week".

I just picked up a used (prototype actually) UUC exhaust. I'll give it a try as soon as the snow melts around my MINI.

Im not a fan of UUC......We have tried using them in the past for our BMW's and i find there work to by garbage.....The welds on some mufflers looked like a 2yr old did them and the stainless steel was all scratched upon us receiving them so that was the end of us using that company.

Ok I finally managed to take some video, subscribe to .Mac, and upload the data.

Videos are here:

http://homepage.mac.com/machigane13/iMovieTheater5.html

There are three videos in total.

Keep in mind I have a combination of Home Depot Tite Seal and Dynamat covering most of the interior of the car.....So it's a lot quieter than if you installed the exahust (and intake and pulley) on an otherwise stock car.

Here's where I plugged it up that really reduces the noise dramatically.....

I would have to disagree with this. I think the workmanship is fantabulous and have not had any issues with them at all.

Pics from my install below:

Its different when a retail custmer buys one component from a company to judge that item , when im a wholesaler and have bought pleanty of parts from them to see the imperfections here n there.

That really sounds great! Would you say that one would NEED the extra sound deadening material to fully enjoy this exhaust? Also, how much trouble was it to take the interior apart like that, and consequently, how difficult was it to put it all back?

I'm not mechanically inclined, but if I get an exhaust, I want a quiet ride on the inside, so I'd be tempted to try what you did.

I've done it about 100 times now (no joke) so it's real easy.

Even the first time was relatively easy. One thing you should do is buy some yellow clips at the dealer...These suckers break real easy.....

I would recommend plugging those holes for sure. The drone was quite annoying.....
