Software question

I am currently running the EVO Tech ECU software. I just purchased the Unichip and don't want to install it until I am certain the two don't conflict each other and I'm left with a broken car or one that won't work properly.

Anyone out there able to put my mind at ease so I can install this puppy?

Have it flashed back to stock before you install the Unichip. The Unichip does not deliver specific results, it only changes the A/F and timing a percentage from what's already in there. You could end up with a much worse performing car and/or cause damage if you try to run the two on top of eachother. See this post for what the Unichip actually does:

WOW!!! Do I send it back and not install at all? Not that I don't like the EVO Tech, I just like the idea that I don't have to worry about the dealer overwriting the software and have to have it reflashed, again.

If that were to happen, I would expect your installer to reflash the EvoTech at no charge.

As Andy said don't run the two together. It will probably run way too lean! The effects of the two products are cumulative and will not be beneficial.

Marginal gains at best with the Unichip. Have opted to return it and continue dealing with having to have EVO Tech reflashed any time the dealer updates the ECU. A pain in the butt but for 2 or maybe even 3 hp not worth the $750 IMHO

Can you say upgrade brakes for $750

Do you have the actual dyno info from the two programs? I'm sure Andy would love to see it
