Finally!

The MINI got a 3" catback exhaust with one muffler. It sounds great!

Only cost me 130$

I'll get some more pics and a video of the sound later.

You're the bomb diggity. How loud is it while cruising and what does it look like from under the car?

Yes I am, yes I am.

I don't have a picture of it but it's pretty much;

straight from cat, bends to the right, muffler, bends back to the middle and goes out through two pipes.

Thanks for recording the sound. It let's me know that I definitely don't want that setup. Too loud. I don't want to draw the cops attention anymore than Hot Orange is already going to do. Cool video though!

If that's sarcastic the video was pretty much just to "show" the sound, too bad you didn't like it.

Pipe's are too big to be an efficient system, makes a lot of noise and I'll bet you lost power.

My brothers twincharged car has a 3" pipe from the downpipe back! It is only running through a Borla resonator, that is loud! The design is a little differen though, instead of going on only one side of the battery box it goes around the battery box on both sides and comes out to two 3'' tips. The system is all stainless steel.

Actually I think jlm's comment about the video being nice is an honest compliment. I too thought that soft focus was pretty a cool effect. Especially being done at dusk (dawn?). Whoever shot & edited the video could have a serious hidden talent IMHO.

fj0,

Nice video, we need more exhaust videos that show from idle as well as driving around! By the way are those wheels subzeos? I just got mine in today, they are black with polished lip. I love those rims. I use to own a pair for my subaru! By the way my car is Jet Black as well!

Yeah they are Subzero's, 18" polished lip and steel gray center, my order was originally polished lip and gunmetal center but of course they screwed my order up , but I got a good discount and I didn't want to wait for them to ship them back and forth so I took them.

I'd love to see them on your ride, any pics?

I'll try to get a better movie someday.

No pictures yet, the wheels are sitting in the boxes. The mini is at the dealer right now! :( I miss my baby so much. But as soon as I get her, she will go straight to the tire place to get her new wheels on. I post pictures as soon as I get her back.

By the way any more photos of your car with the wheels? How di the 18" fit on the car? Any modifications needed? My wheels are 17.

wow man that sure sounds sweet

could you please tell me what and where did you get the muffler you used?
also I know this is a big question but could you or do you have any dimensions of the exhaust system you built?
a friend of mine will build me an exhaust in his workshop from stainless steel
if i can provide him with dimensions to build it to.
the problem I have is I have no ramp to measure the exhaust and I dont trust car jacks,
if you could measure the exhaust for me when you take your underneath shots id be very greatfull.

VIDEO = GREAT especially liked going into the tunnel.

Sound - seems pretty loud! BUT it does sound good, especially from the inside.

I take it this is home brew - would love details since i am in the process of adding a header and wanted to consider doing a cat back system. Currently using the 1 -ball.

systems that i've looked at - Megan, invidia, obx and mymini. the first 3 are dual sided and the last is single sided. All of these system are 300 to 550 in price.

so I'd like to know how much you dropped on yr system.

bahamabart

PS - If i have a negative comments you were holding the car back on the free way ramp - shame on you

I'll see what I can do about that, but I recommend you to try it out after your own car, my measurments wont be enough.

I got the muffler from a Swedish store called Mekonomen, it's a "Simons" muffler.

Here are some pictures:

I like the pictures a lot. Do you have a large version of the first one in your post with the wheels? Would like to set it up as a wallpaper. I can not wait to get my wheels on the car. Those wheels look so good! Again very nice pictures!
