power delivery across the rev range for jcw vs aftermkt

talked about extensively..BUT..how is the power delivery when comparing jcw to a 200-210hp aftermkt moded car?......i have driven a jcw '04 and the power felt like it was evenly applied across the rev range from 2500 area upwards but i havent driven an aftermkt moded car....is their power delivery more uneven (like a turbo)??...ie if u were blind-folded and put in the driver seat of either the jcw, stge 1 or stge 2 (eg randy webb's 200-210hp versions)...would you be able to pick which one is the jcw and which ones were the aftermkt moded mcs?...thanks inadvance for responding to this heavily asked question albeit from a simpletons perspective!! (heheh)
