I have a UUC exhaust, and have not had any problems with the current exhaust set-up which has been on the car for over a year. Within the last week, a rattle has developed which seems to be related to the hangars on the driver side of the car. I checked the tightness of the bolts where the UUC mounts up, checked the heat shield, and everything appears to be buttoned up w/o any heat shield touching exhaust type issues. The rattle is a real tinny, metal to metal sounding rattle that I can eliminate by applying upward pressure on the exhaust mounting points causing the hangars to move upward a bit. When I do this and have someone rev the car, the rattle is gone. As soon as I let go and have someone rev the car a bit, the rattle comes back. Any ideas of what is causing this and suggestions for a fix?
