Nitrous is lots of fun, but invariably whenever I really wanted to use it, the bottle was empty. 50hp jets used up a 10lb bottle in 5 minutes, 75hp lasts just over 3.5 minutes, and 100hp lasts 2.5 minutes.

When you add up the cost of refills it's like buying a turbo on layaway

That's the real down side of N2O The difference between having 900psi (full bottle) vs. 600psi (low bottle)a few nights ago was the difference between ******* a GTO and him ******* me ...edited for sensitive ears:smile:

Just to clarify....

Nitrous can not be meassured in PSI as it is a liquid, and delivered as such.
Best way to figure out how much nitrous is left is to put the bottle on a scale.

I found the nitrous bottle would stay at the same pressure as long as there was any liquid left then would just plummet after that (makes sense-the vapor pressure for any substance is a constant at a given temperature). Since the gas law tells us that temperature makes a difference, maybe a bottle heater would help: http://www.holley.com/data/TechServi...mperatures.pdf

It's good to know the Tritec has a good amount of durability margin built-in.

True Peter...but 600psi from the bottle (with bottle heater on) means it's running low and there's a huge difference 600psi and 900psi performance wise. Granted, 600psi doesn't tell me how much is left but it does tell me that it's not long before there isn't much GO left
