Just installed M7 AGS

the install is a pain in the neck to do, but its well worth it. the car sounds great, but not only does it sound great, it is more resposive, power delivery feels more linear and the butt dyno notices a difference also. the only problem is, i have a vacuum leak at the connection between the AGS tube and the supercharger and the car is now lit up with "Service Engine Soon" and "EML" i can do pics/vids/sound later if anyone is really interested

newley changed ags tube has fixed the problem and it runs like a charm. EML light is off, but SES is still on.. maybe with time it will disapear?

in my opinion, that joint is ill-conceived on mini's part. I had inquired whether the ags improved on, or at least retained the bracket holding the TB to the engine, as that is 1/2 of the retention system.

We have been working feverishly to solve the SC to tube interface and I will test the latest uppdate in the morning. If it works as I hope I will post a how to right away, and this will be a fix that could be done on the spot

Back to the family....

How do you know if you have a leak at the supercharger?

agreed, it absolutely sucks. the bracket would have been good to reuse

its quite obvious... the noise is there, my friend and i doing the install loosened everything enough to move the tube around while the car was running and found a spot where there was no more leak but unfortunately the lame stock bolt couldnt sustain it

any ideas on the EML light anyone? all electrical connections seem to be secure...

So when I get my AGS, am I going to have to mess with it until it fits?

We have found that's there's some small variations in the geometry from car to car when you install the AGS. The problem lies in the SC gasket and the floating design that will allow some movements in the tube. I have personally installed many of these systems on multiple cars, some leak and some don't.

With that said I have looked at some small geometry changes, we are only looking at less then 1/4" which we will very easily be changed, thank God for plastics

peter do you have any ideas on what would be causing the EML light to be on?

any air leaks after the throttle body will cause poor running which means the EML will come on

so until you rectify the air leak with the AGS pipe, it wont go off.

Try moving the pipe around a little (not in a way to damage it)...as i had the same problem and moving the pipe around fixed the fault, and the car has been fine ever since

As Cooper_Si said, " any air leaks after the throttle body will cause poor running which means the EML will come on "
More air is entering the engine than the air flow sensor is seeing, you are probably running in a lean condition. This could possibly cook the CAT.

that is what i assumed but the owners manual said EML is in reference to an electronics malfunction. also the service engine soon light is on, which i think is also due to the vacuum leak causing a difference in unmetered intake air making it through to the exhaust

After hours of testing, the solution is a simple geometry change of the AGS
allowing a 100% seal of the AGS to the SC All the tubes shipping will have the new "fix". If you feel that you have some questions or concernes about
the AGS......Call me:smile:
