i'd ditch the roots type and go with a twin screw....

I had mine modified by ENDYN. The case was ported and coated with an anti-friction material. The sound holes were filled in and the rotors timed. I also had the rotors coated with a high-temp anti-friction material. There are many details to this procedure that are proprietary and un-available and some that can be seen when you look into a disassembled case. You can go to theoldone.com and read up on the modification; also, how to build a 2liter is a very good read. The price for the case was $850; the rotor coating is $200 extra. Pricing depends; there is no one size fits all for anything Larry does, so only use that as general reference.

I haven’t installed it yet so I can’t comment on the real-world effect. I built a rig/jig to do a run-in on the blower and I couldn’t resist putting my hand up to the intake side. My hand was sucked onto the blower and for a moment couldn’t be removed until the belt slipped. That was the kind of intense suction that is not found on a household vacuum cleaner, kind of scary. I have operated 3 blowers including a 2005 model and can tell you that all blowers are not created equal. There is a certain amount of assurance that comes with having one custom modified. I have seen other sources for the mod, but T.O.O. is the only one I have first hand knowledge of and his treatment is very thorough.

This is not a stand alone cost effective mod, but if you were addressing the entire intake system and could afford it or couldn't stand to leave a stone unturned in the pursuit of gains, it would be worthwhile. With the release of the turbo kits, this kind of mod seems a little puny in comparison to the gains offered with those bolt-on packages.

Based on the web site you mentioned, they appear to be offering something for the VTEC community. How were you able to get them to complete a project for the MINI?

He has done work on a number of Minis on the board, including a lot of head work for jlm. His speciality is Vtec motors, but a lot of the same principles apply. I have heard nothing but praise for his work, but there are some complaints on the amount of time he takes and sometimes his communication. But others who have actually had him do work for them may have other comments.

Peter of M7 sent me these shots recently of what he is now offering in the way of a ported and polished sc. After a few months, this is the third iteration from a company that specializes in sc development and refinement. Turn-around time is about 1 week, and the price is $695, I believe.

Material is not just removed, but added as well, to aid flow. I'll be getting one quite soon, so I can't comment yet from my experiences...

I hate to ask this because i am an M7 supporter but is there any data or performance info on this mod?

Spider, preliminary data has shown awesome gains using this supercharger.... so much in fact that Peter himself isnt quite sure if they are right or not. That is the last I heard of it.... If the numbers were true, minus the cost of install this would be the second most cost effective mod on the market... right behind a pulley of course.

Ok I will give some data about this upgrade....

We did a MINI Cooper with a JCW 200hp kit, the only changes where:

1. M7 ported SC

2. M7 16% Technology pulley

3. Basic MTH software uppgrade

The change in gearing is a nominal 1.2% from the JCW units 14.8%.
MTH software uppgrades usually nets anywhere from 3-6hp.

The total horsepower change was 17whp from baseline, pretty impressive indeed. The change is most likely from a higher CFM and cooler running
charge from the porting and polishing. My guess is that if you run a smaller pulley, the cooler running charge air would be very beneficial to keep IC
temps under control....

As Tony stated we do add material on the case, this allows us to control
the airflow in to the screws by removing material at the base of the intake
tract.
Price is a very affordable $695.00
We do need a core, although we do have a very limited amount of exchange cores available. We can guarantee a 7-10 days turnaround time after we receive the cores.

For more info call us..

Hi all,

I've got a M7 ported blower going on my car in the next month. I look forward to cooler running temps, more boost and more power

I'll let you know how it turns out

Peter,

Can you give a little more detail on what is done to the blower. Specifics would be great. Also is anything done with the rotors? Thanks.

My list of mods includs a 19% pulley....is this a problem? Will I need to retune my Unichip? Do you also port the intake runners etc for additional charge.....is it worth it?

Peter for the 695 what exacty is done? Just the case worked on or are the rotors themselves recoated?

The gains themselves look to be very promising with the modified blower...looking forward to more info on it.

Also were there gains in the lower end or just the top end?
Thanks
Mike

The supercharger is disassembled, then the sc case is cleaned and heated up in an
owen. reason for heating the case up is to prevent the case from distorting
when it's welded. The weld is to add material on the outside so material can be removed from the inside of the intake port.

All the edges are rounded over and the exhaust port is enlarged for better
CFM performance. We do not re-cote the screws as the cost, performance benefit is
approaching a very diminishing return for the Dollar.

If the gains are there, this is a very good price. What type of supercharger work does this company specialize in?

Where is the power gained? What about torque? Can you post a dyno sheet?

The company we partnered up with does work exclusively on Eaton
superchargers. The workmanship is outstanding and attention to detail
is as good as it get's.

The gains where outstanding and I will search on my computer for the dyno files this evening. If I can't find them I will call my customer to see if he can email me the files.

The best part (after the horsepower) is the turnaround time, which means less downtime for your ride....
