Drivetrain GIAC software installed, what a BEAST! Thanks Garrett, DSR, and New Dimensions!

Currys is Good

Talk to Chris Coulter if you have the software installed.

It is a given that almost anytime you go to the dealership for service they will send an updated software package to your ECU. My MINI is 2 months old and already has a Rev waiting for me at the dealership. Garrett said that it is just too much risk to encrypt the ECU so it will not take being flashed back to a MINI program, because MINI has a reputation of saying the ECU is jacked, we need to replace it, and if they find out you were chipped it is on your dime. So the answer was a lifetime MINI program that you can get reloaded anytime you need it by an Authorized GIAC dealer.

Also Garrett himself told me that they will not be offering end user flashloading, as their software is the only one on the market that does what his does, and he doesnt want the coding to leak out there, as he worked long and hard on it.

Hey no problem for me, I dont mind a 3 hour drive to my nearest GIAC dealer, just gives me an excuse to boost on the way home!

Curiosity. Not a sure thing right now but I'm thinking about it. I'm a sucker for "new and shiny"
I like the Uni. It performs well but does exhibit a flat spot at 3200 RPM. You only feel it during light throttle acceleration. It feels like a timing change. No data to prove that it's just seat of the pants impression.
Now that I think about it I'll have to see if my Davis Car Chip does timing. I don't think so but I'll look tonight.

Back to the main topic. I'm not dissatisfied I just want to try something else.
If these local guys have a dyno I may do a UNI to GIAC comparison.

I'm heading to Syosset sometime this summer so I'm going to try and arrange a Helix visit around that. Already have an OK from the wife.
Any idea on the time is takes to do that trip? Syosset to Philly.

Silk Smooth GIAC 19 Program

I agree with you all. Not a lot of HP, but silk smooth.
I ran the 19% pulley with GIAC 19% program with 400cc injectors from M7, and had to disconect traction control because the pull of the engine at 1/2 gears was awsome!!
I added a big throttle and WOW, what a live!!
BMP air filter helps as well. Now I am looking to install my oil catch can and Shcrik cam. Enjoy!!
